The business unit for which you wish to measure EP is a viable EP center if you can answer "yes" to three questions:

1. Does the business unit comprise of a specified group of managers engaged in profit making activities?
2. Are results of management activities tracked and recorded in complete and accurate financial reports?
3. Can the managers be reasonably held accountable for the reported results?
