{"id":2995,"date":"2012-06-26T21:27:15","date_gmt":"2012-06-27T05:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hodakvalue.com\/blog\/?p=2995"},"modified":"2012-06-26T22:06:58","modified_gmt":"2012-06-27T06:06:58","slug":"yes-nancy-were-serious","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hodakvalue.com\/blog\/yes-nancy-were-serious\/","title":{"rendered":"Yes, Nancy, we&#8217;re serious"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Few statements better illustrate the dismissive condescension of a government official in a headlong power-grab:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/08uk99L8oqQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Whatever one believes about the merits of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare), or whichever way the Supreme Court decides this law, the question of constitutionality was real.  The concerns were there throughout the deliberations, in <a href=\"http:\/\/centristnetblog.com\/daily\/the-obama-brand-tarnished-by-the-passage-of-obamacare-over-bipartisan-opposition-and-special-interest-deals\/\">bipartisan opposition<\/a> to the law, and in its lingering unpopularity to this day.  But if one is blinded by their authoritarian ambitions, such concerns remain invisible to them.<\/p>\n<p>Well, Ms. Pelosi, many of us were in fact more concerned about a dramatic and potentially unconstitutional expansion of government power over the most private part of our private lives than we were dazzled by the promise of unfettered access to low cost health care.\u00a0 We were serious about that concern.
